five things I love friday - vintage quilt tops

Good morning!

I was looking on etsy this morning, and found so many beautiful vintage quilt tops, all under $40.00.

Here's my top five:

Aren't they pretty?!  The great thing about quilt tops, too, is that you can cut them up to make lots of really unique things, like pillows, curtains, bags, etc....

I love quilts. Especially antique ones. I think it's because you can really see how scraps can turn into beauty. Lots of little pieces of fabrics, sewn together, to create a new design. A gorgeous mix of prints, remixed. And then turned into something that provides warmth, comfort, and loveliness.

And that's what God does with us. He takes the "scraps" of our lives. The things that we think are wasted. The mistakes we've made along the way. And He turns them into something beautiful. Something useful.

Nothing is wasted in the kingdom of God.

I want to encourage y'all today - God is using all the "scraps" in your lives, too.
He is piecing together all the things that the enemy meant for harm in your life.
And He is turning those things into good.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Romans 8:28

  2. My mom is a quilter...growing up I remember that as soon as she put her Bible down, a quilt in a hoop took it's place in her lap. Such a beautiful memory. She has given away so many of her creations...I hope to inherit a few of the ones she kept. She loves to know that a quilt she has made is being enjoyed...

    Your post is beautiful, Lora.
