Eastern Gate

My booth at Harvest Fest was right next to my friends' Michael and Rachelle's booth. Michael is a very talented artist that makes absolutely gorgeous handpainted silk banners, scarves, and tapestries. And the best part is that they pray over these works of art and dedicate them all to the Lord. It was so evident watching them at Harvest Fest that He is their main focus and that their heart is for God to use these silk creations to bring others deeper into His presence.

Michael just opened up his etsy shop, Eastern Gate, recently and I am super excited to introduce y'all to his work! Here's some of my favorite pieces in his shop right now:

Lightning Banner

(Revelation 8:3-5)

I actually own one of these banners in a different color scheme, and let me tell you - there is such a powerful anointing on them! The first time I worshiped in my house, waving that banner in the air, I could immediately feel the presence of the Lord. It was awesome. You can really tell that lots and lots of prayer went into making these beautiful banners that you can use while you worship corporately at church, or privately in your own home and with your little ones. 

River of God (Intimacy Line)

the Hebrew writing on the scarf is translated:

"I am my Beloved's, and He is mine." (Song of Solomon 6:3)

this one is truly incredible! Just look at all the detail that went into it - the beads handsewn onto the bottom hem, the scripture along the edge, and I love how he painted the wing, don't you?!

Drink Deeply Banner

this photo shows some of Michael's process.

All of his banners start as white silk.  He hand dyes the silk, stretches it out like above, and then paints directly onto the silk. There's several other steps after that as well to set the paint, seal it, etc... It's quite an artistic process! He is truly talented.
