vintage valentine postcard garland

love is in the air!

I stayed up late last night working on a fun little project. I ordered some antique Valentine's Day postcards on ebay last week, as well as some paper heart doilies. I sewed them all together on some vintage red ribbon binding to make a lovely lilttle garland.

see the date?! 1912! over one hundred years old!

I used the leftover heart doilies to make a pretty heart mobile that hangs from the ceiling.

Now, the little corner in my kitchen near the back porch door is the happiest place in my house!

I had one vertical postcard in the bunch,
so I used that one to make the wreath for my front door more "valentiney" :)

this scene is perfect for my history teacher hubby and I  :)

All in all, I'm really happy with the end result. It's not perfect, but it sure makes me smile. :)
And I think then total money spent was under $7.00!

  2. I LOVE it! What fantastic vintage postcards you found. And you got a seriously great price, too!
And I really like that you added to your wreath . . . I need to do something for my door myself. Thanks for inspiration Lora!
