back in the saddle again

I started Weight Watchers again two weeks ago. It's time. My starting weight is 175 pounds. I'd like to lose about 30 pounds. So far, it's going really well, I've lost about 4 pounds. Only 26 to go! haha...

I took some "before" photos the other day while we were at my in-laws house. Looking at that side view - oh my. I totally look pregnant, don't I? I'm not. It's probably due to the fact that I had five babies in seven years (and the fact that I really love to eat large quantities of chocolate!). Hopefully, once the weight comes off and I do a bunch of sit ups, my tummy will flatten out a little bit.

I bought this pretty journal and have been tracking what I am eating, writing down every little thing I put in my mouth. And I gotta tell you, doing this really helps!

I know I can do this.

I lost 90 pounds after Joseph was born.
(You can see my before and after photos here (at 230 pounds) and here (at 140 pounds))

So, I am just gonna buckle down again and say no to that second helping. And not give in to emotional eating. Bottom line is - as much as I like to think that food will bring me comfort when I'm sad or stressed, it just won't. It ends up hurting me in the long run.

Only God's presence in my life can truly satisfy!

I'd love your prayers for me as I try to become healthier. :)

  1. Well, I think you're gorgeous just the way you are. :) But I will be praying! My mom's been working on losing baby weight (that she's had since I was born nearly 22 years ago) and it's just been in the last year or so that she finally found a method that worked. I looked at the pictures of you post-Joseph and 90 pounds lighter....WOW. That's dedication, girl! I am so impressed!

My hubby's lost about 50 pounds in the last 6-8 months or so. He started around 290 and he's down to about 240. His clothes are all getting loose; we've had to get several pairs of new pants and new belts (because he was sick of poking holes in his old belts; he kept shrinking out of them!). We also need to get his wedding ring resized because his fingers are so much slimmer now than when we got married (almost 2 years ago now!) that his ring just slides off if he's not careful. :)

    Blessings to you, dear!

  3. Not sure if you are exercising or not, but I REALLY like this site- http://fit2b.us/. She has videos you can do at home that are great! I am working on my tummy muscles. After four babies they are in pretty sad shape!

  4. I hope you have good success! WW's doesn't work for me and I started the Heller's Carbo Addicts diet in the middle of January. I wanted to lose 30 lbs and happily have 10 to go. The key is finding something that works for you and you can hopefully live with forever. (You don't look 175 either!)
