pink cupcakes, smartphones, and proverbs 31

Ruth's 6th birthday is on Sunday, so I went to her class today, carrying a dozen birthday cupcakes (with hot pink frosting and sprinkles!)  She was so happy. Here's a few photos:

(yes, she ate the frosting off first. that's my girl)

her cute class (look at how Joseph is to be sitting with the big kids!)

Clint was just down the hall at a teacher appreciation lunch (in hawaiian hulu style - thus the shell necklace around his neck), so we ran over to give him a cupcake, too.

Ruth's little friend Talitha brought her a birthday sash and party hats for the class!

me and my beautiful girl, Isabella Ruth.

Hope y'all are having a good week. I am finally out of the crazy times (aka Mother's Day season for my etsy shop). Now, I can breathe a little bit easier and rest a little more.

So, I finally joined the 21st century and got my very first smartphone, and I am trying to figure it out. I confess I don't feel very "smart" using it! haha... It's hard! I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but I kinda miss my old school flip phone. And I am praying that it will be a tool to help me be more productive with my time, and not a distraction and complication in my life.

The weather's been soooo nice here lately. I've loved having the windows open, watching the kiddos read their books on the back porch glider, and feeling the cool spring breezes.

one other thing - a new friend of mine from church recently started a blog called Thirty One that is really wonderful. She's going through one verse a day of the 31st chapter of Proverbs. It's an in depth study - and it is SO GOOD. It's been really blessing me! She's really got a lot of wisdom and interesting insight on Proverbs 31, a book of the Bible that is dear to my heart. Check it out here.

Have a great day!

  1. That must have been such a great day for her :) My phone and I had many a misunderstanding in the early days of our relationship, particularly with text.
