It's been nice to take a few weeks off and unplug. I've been praying a lot about the direction I want to take for this coming year in regards to my blog, twitter, etc. And honestly, I still don't know exactly what everything is going to look like for 2013. I started this blog in May of 2005. Wow. That's a long time! And while it's been a huge blessing for me on so many levels, sometimes I wonder if its all worth it. Does that make sense? I wonder if my little corner of the internet world is helping people. Drawing them closer to God. Encouraging them in their creativity. And cheering them on as they strive to be better wives and mommies.
I'd love to hear from you if this blog has touched you in some way over the years. If you could send me a quick comment, I would be so grateful. Call it a survey of sorts, if you will. I want to be intentional with this blog. And I know that there are seasons for everything. Maybe a new season is beginning. I just don't know...
Please pray for me as I seek the Lord's direction for this area of my life for the coming year. I would really really appreciate it!

I thought it would be fun to do a giveaway for the very first post of 2013. A great way to start the year, don't you think? And what better word for a new year than the word "happy"?
(bee) happy - handstamped brass necklace with bee charm
"You will enjoy the fruit of your labor.
How happy and prosperous you will be!"
Psalm 128:2
****************************************
To enter the giveaway, all you have to do is leave a comment telling me a way that you have been blessed by this little blog, or something you'd like to see more of on this blog in 2013.
SORRY, BUT THE GIVEAWAY IS OVER. BETH WAS THE WINNER! (1/4/13)
I'm hopeful that your feedback will help me as I pray and seek God's direction for what this blog should look like this new year.
I'll pick a random winner on Friday evening.
How happy and prosperous you will be!"

My blessing from your blog is seeing "God" mentioned. Every time we mention God and someone sees it, we have witnessed. I love that!
ReplyDeleteThat's why I always sign everything with my Christian fish

I think it may be the only time all day that someone sees a Christian witness.
Wishing you a year full of God's blessings!

I can't think of a specific way that your blog has blessed me, it's more of a general feeling that I get when I visit. I feel warmly welcomed, accepted, and encouraged here. I love when you share stories of how you were given an opportunity to share your faith.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I do get what you are saying. I have blogged very sparingly the last couple of months. I just wonder sometimes, who is reading and who really cares? HA! That's why it's always nice to see comments. And when you do a giveaway, you get a better sense of how many folks are reading! :-)
I have been blessed with not only your amazing friendship but also with a glimpse into your life- the good, the bad, the ugly. I love and appreciate your honesty and your heart for Christ! It's WHO YOU ARE that really comes across as you blog and that's what I love! :)
ReplyDeleteI think what I get blessed by coming here is seeing your realness and your love for God : )
ReplyDeletei am blessed and inspired by you Lora! your perspective on life is always helpful and encouraging!! i love you!!
ReplyDeleteYour blog is really an inspiration to me, Lora! Thanks so much for sharing your life and your creativity in this way :) I'm not a mommy yet, but I hope the Lord will bless me in this way at His time.
ReplyDeleteI have been blessed bucketloads by your blog! I check it every day, and I always find something to lift the corners of my mouth and lift the sagging parts of my soul. You are genuine and transparent in the most lovely way, and you inspire me to want to be more of the same. AND, you have influenced my creativity hugely! In fact, it was your inspiration that led me to start my own jewelry business and saw it really flourish in it's first little year. So, please don't go anywhere! I would miss you tremendously!!
ReplyDeleteI will never forget the first time I visited your blog. You had just included an item from my Etsy shop in one of your Five Things I Love Friday lists. It made my day (maybe my week)! There have been many more instances when I have read your entries only to feel that my spirits were lifted afterward. You would be very much missed in the blogging world :)
ReplyDeleteI've been blessed by the way you pray over each creation you make... your heart for the Lord is overflowing, and that's made clear by the way your items bless those who purchase them. I really love hearing the stories of how a customer has found THE piece that God intended them to be blessed by. And how fun that must be for you!
ReplyDeleteI have only just found your blog. I discovered it today because I have been so very blessed by your Etsy shop. I'm looking forward to gamboling about here, though, because if your Etsy shop is any indication, your blog will likely encourage and be about a full life in Christ.
ReplyDeleteLora!!Just look at the response you have gotten from your readers! If that hasn't encouraged you to continue with this blog...
ReplyDeleteYou have shown us your genuineness, and we are all blessed incredibly! You live loving with God's LOVE. It's evidence of His Holy Spirit!
To live our lives in the Spirit, is to share the Lord with the world...and to share His work in your life with other believers is much needed encouragement.
Keep your eyes on the prize, hold on!!
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.~1 Thessalonians 5:11
LOVE YOU!
I have been blessed by the Scripture that you share on your blog. Thanks for doing that.
ReplyDeleteSweet Lora,
ReplyDeleteYou will have NO idea how you and this blog have blessed me. I treasure your friendship. You have so much wisdom. I am blessed through you!
I wear your jewelry so often and get compliments on them each time. I am able to share with them your blog and have many friends follow you now as well. I especially love to share the story of how you send me that necklace (FOR FREE) when you saw I had the saying on my blog.
I have such a similar heart for crafting, but so little follow through. You inspire me that even though you have a house full of other responsibilities you still follow your call to use your hands to bless others.
Having a big family (now) as well, it blesses me so much to read about your love for your children and your desire for them to living their lives for the Lord.
Girl, you will eventually know the impact you have had on lives, but it won't be just in this life. I do pray that you are encouraged by some of these stories to encourage you to keep pressing forward. You are doing GREAT things for the kingdom, my friend!
Amy

I always enjoy your encouraging posts. I have considered closing my blog. After 7 years, I feel like I have run out of things to blog about. I still have it open...for my far away family members and my sweet readers who have stuck with me.
ReplyDeleteYou are a sweet soul...it shines through everything you write.
Blessings on you in 2013.

There's not a big things that stands out to me other than I feel like I am getting to visit with another Christian mom while I sit and drink my morning coffee (the only chance I get to blog hop). I have been a follower for a long while now and really enjoy reading... There are so many blogs I follow that make me feel as if I know someone. It would be so cool to meet someday.
ReplyDeleteYou've blessed me simply by being you. Today you offered to pray for me and I felt so honoured. Keep up with the blog. God has a purpose in it.--Heather
ReplyDeleteYour blog is the only blog I read every day. When you "unplugged", I was worried that you weren't going to be writing anymore. I am so thankful for your commitment to your blogging and your willingness to share your life with all of us. Your words are a blessing.
