happy friday

Hope everyone's had a great week! The first part of the week for me was pretty busy. Clint was out of town till Wednesday, so I was on my own with the kiddos. God gave me a lot of favor and grace, and it went really well. Tuesday night, I got a sitter and went out to dinner with my dear friend Danielle. She has seven children, so both of us were quite happy to have a night out all by ourselves!

It's been great to have Clint back, and we've been just hanging out. Last night, I sat and played the organ while Clint played a game on his ipad. I really enjoyed my time at the organ, playing hymns and making up songs. It was so fun! And after I was done, I sat down by Clint on the couch. He said something like, "I really loved that. It makes me so happy to hear you playing." :) I am so glad that we have music in our house again! I went upstairs to read a Beverly Lewis book (Christian fiction, in an Amish setting). Then, I went to bed early! It was a good night.

I wanted to share a little clip from a movie called "Evening". It's not the greatest movie (super sad), but this little scene really spoke to me.  It's a reminder of what's really important. And sometimes, we just have to stop in the middle of what's we're doing, and just be "present" with our children. Sometimes, the only answer is a song. And a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

Isn't that a powerful scene?

Sometimes, the dishes can wait and the dinner can wait. But, what can't wait is the comforting of a child or the face-to-face, cheek-to-cheek time with those you love.

I'm looking forward to a relaxing weekend. Just enjoying my family and my home. God is good!

  1. Yes...very powerful scene. Take those moments, dear Lora. They are fleeting.
    I know about fleeting.
