home

I have a dear friend named Jenifer who is one of my biggest supporters and encouragers, especially concerning my business. She truly sees it as a ministry, too (as do I). And she loves to spur me on deeper and further in my gifts. It is so wonderful. Anyway, she often commissions me to make her special gifts for her family and friends. And she usually doesn't pick one of the pieces in my shop. She tells me the name of the person she wants to give a necklace to, and then asks me to just pray about it and see what the Lord shows me. It's so awesome to have that much freedom to create! I enjoy this process so much. And its always so exciting and encouraging to share with her what I've made and what the Lord's shown me for each person. And I love to hear the stories from her after she's given the person the necklace. It's so amazing to hear how He blesses them and shows His love through these little things.

I just finished making a piece for her yesterday. As I prayed for the woman it was for, I asked the Lord what He would like for her to have. And I immediately heard the word "home".

More specifically, the phrase, "my home is in You."

He began to give me such a beautiful picture of how her home was in Him. That He is her place of safety, her haven.  That He is her resting place. He shelters her from the cold and the rain. He is her dwelling place.

As I made this necklace and prayed for her, I knew it was also a word for me as well.

And this morning, I couldn't stop thinking of that one word.

HOME.

He is that safe place for me, too.
I can breathe easy when I open the door to His presence.
I can go to the secret place and rest and relax and just be still. With Him.

My home is in Him.
My security is in Him.
My shelter is in Him.
My safety is in Him.

When the cares of this world overwhelm our thoughts;
when the winds and rains and trials come,
we can run to Him and are safe.

You will be secure, because there is hope;
you will look about you and take your rest in safety. Job 11:18

In peace I will lie down and sleep,
for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.   Psalm 4:8

If you say, "The LORD is my refuge,"
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent.
 For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:9-11

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened,
and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

*******************************

Sweet friends, He is there for you.
He wants you to make Him your home.
He wants to be your safe place.
Don't shut him out today.
Let Him in.
You won't regret it.
